Writing articles
Well with zines your articles can be any way you want. If you want to write for ‘real’ magazines and/or lit publications and stuff like that, you want a more polished style. Here are some links that might help get you started:

for a general outline, basically you want to have:
subject intro
attention grabber
article/essay statement or point of your article/essay
supporting paragraphs
conclusion
All the Reading You Do is Research
Consider that all the reading you do is also research. So read various magazines to get a feel for how the articles are written. Take a few hours and go to your local library and go through some magazines they have in the stack to get a feel for how the articles are written.
