Today I made a flower pot out of another old plastic container. Punched holes in the bottom with a knife, then filled it with my new fern. Fitting end to February Thing-A-Day and welcome to Spring!

Today I made a new scarf.. Spring is less than a month away but really, here in northeast Ohio spring is more like 2 months away. So the scarf is much needed and handy. I LOVE the fabric, it’s so soft and fluffy!

Thing-A-Day 2/15/10: Upcycled Bag
Today I made a new bag from several different clothing items I upcycled. The green bottom of the bag is a handmade hat I got a few years ago, I wore it for a couple of winters but needed a change this winter. The two upper parts of the bag are from 2 different pairs of pants, and the lining is this pretty dark purple velvet from an old dress of my daughter’s/ The handles are from a pair of jeans and corduroys. I like how it looks with the handle rough and raggedy, but U will probably edge up the handle for a more finished look in a bit.

Thing-A-Day 2/10/10: Cashmere Socks
One of my cashmere sweaters was getting raggedy at the sleeve elbows, to the point where patching it up would be noticeable. Normally I wouldn’t care but I decided to cut up the sweater and use the fabric for various things including a pair of cashmere socks. I’ve been wanting a pair for a while!

Thing-A-Day 2/5/10: Red Button Earrings
I made another pair of earrings and I like these so much better than the 1st set I made on the 3rd. These were a pair of silver mermaid earrings I liked…added red buttons to them to make them pop. Learned my lesson about using too much glue so just used a smidgen this time. love it!

Thing-A-Day 2/3/10: Earrings
Today I made earrings. I had some sterling silver post earrings I never wore, so added buttons to them then put a little denim on top of the buttons. I think I used too much Gorilla glue, will have to watch it next time. Still, I like them!

Thing-A-Day 2/2/10: Mittens
Today I made mittens. I had some leftover fabric from when I made the kids; quilts this past Christmas and decided to use it for my mittens. This fabric is so soft and fluffy and warm. I put the fluffy side on the inside. The cuffs I reconstructed from an old jacket my sons used to wear when they were toddlers. I love my new mittens!

Thing-A-Day 2/1/10: New Logo
I’m doing <a href=”http://thing-a-day.com/”>Thing-A-Day 2010</a>. Today I made a new logo for my biz. or rather an updated one, I’m still using the hand-drawn flower motif but in shades of blue now instead of different colors. Will tweak in a bit.
