I have put everyone on notice that I will not participate. If someone stops speaking to me, I'm still going to call and write to them on whatever frequency level I did before. Also, the fact that someone else is going to be there is not a legitimate excuse for declining an invitation from me. The only exceptions are in case of physical threat or harassment. Also, when you get to the point when you can genuinely pray for that person who rejected or betrayed you, you are well on your way to healing. Just my 2 cents.
